Discovering the “Golden Hour of Play” with Fisher- Price Let’s Draw by GIM
Following the successful completion of the 3rd Parenting Conference by Project Parenting, and with the Fisher- Price Let’s Draw product range by GIM as a Gold Sponsor, a unique e-book has been created with a variety of educational articles, stories and suggestions, to remind us that child-rearing stereotypes can be broken!
It is already scientifically documented that human physiology is attuned to learn by means of play & games. However, what is not so widely known is that the learning rate increases by approximately 20-40 times with creative play, as indicated by recent studies.
As discussed in the special article by Foteini Meletaki (*) on how to avoid falling in the trap of screen-time and to break the stereotype of giving kids a tablet/phone to keep them occupied, the very importance of meaningful interaction between parent and child comes to the forefront, even if it is only for 45-60 minutes – aka the “Golden Hour of Play”, a term coined by Dr. Miriam Stoppard.
In particular, this article demonstrates how with creative play products, such as the Fisher-Price Let’s Draw collection by GIM, every parent has the ability to establish and further cultivate this brief, but very productive, circumstance of “learning by playing” with quite simple and easy ideas and ways, despite our busy daily lives.
